New School Psychologist Orientation
The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE), in collaboration with the Connecticut Association of School Psychologists (CASP), would like to extend an invitation for you to attend the 2010-2011 New School Psychologist Orientation. This session will provide an opportunity for the new school psychologists (beginning October 2, 2009) to gain exposure to and an understanding of key issues impacting the practice of school psychology today. Representatives and/or affiliates of the CASP, CSDE, the State Education Resources Center (SERC), the Department of Children and Families (DCF), the National Association of School Psychologist (NASP), and others will be available to share their expertise and respond to your questions. Topics of discussion will include Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Scientific Research Based Interventions (SRBI), cultural responsiveness, mandated reporter responsibilities and practical applications of school psychological services. This meeting will culminate in a discussion by a panel of several of the day's presenters and school psychologists from surrounding districts.
